Questions families ask us

Straight answers about home care with Ann’s Angels. Can’t see your question? Call us on 020 3642 4055.

Getting started

What happens when I first call?

We’ll have a friendly chat about what’s happening and what help might make a difference. We can talk through options and costs straight away, with no obligation.

Do you visit before care starts?

Yes. We arrange a free home visit to meet you and your loved one, understand their routines and needs, and agree a written care plan and a clear quote before anything begins.

Is there a minimum visit length?

Visits start from 30 minutes, from a quick check-in to longer visits, depending on what’s needed.

Costs and funding

Why don’t you show prices online?

Every plan is different, so we don’t publish a price list. Ask for a free, no-obligation quote and we’ll give you a clear figure for the care your loved one needs.

Can the council help pay for care?

Some people get help from their council after a care needs assessment. Depending on where you live, that’s Bracknell Forest, Wokingham Borough or Surrey County Council. We can explain how to ask for one.

Can Attendance Allowance help?

Attendance Allowance is a benefit that isn’t means-tested and can help towards the cost of care. We’re happy to point you to where you can find out more.

Your carers

Will we see the same carers?

We try to keep the same carers wherever possible, so your loved one is greeted by familiar faces.

Are your carers checked?

Yes. We carry out thorough checks on every carer before they start, including an enhanced DBS check and references.

Can we ask for a female or male carer?

Yes. Tell us your preference and we’ll arrange it wherever we can, especially for personal care.

Our services

What kind of help do you offer?

Companionship, personal care, dementia care, home help, respite care and support after a hospital stay. See all our services.

Can care increase if needs change?

Yes. We review care plans regularly and can add visits or time as needs change.

What if home care is no longer enough?

Because we’re part of Valeries, a care home in Crowthorne, we can talk honestly with you about every option, including when a care home might suit better.

Languages and areas

Do you have carers who speak other languages?

Yes. We have carers who speak Punjabi, Hindi, Nepali, Polish and Urdu. We’ll always try to match your loved one with someone who speaks their language.

Which areas do you cover?

Crowthorne, Camberley, Bracknell, Wokingham and the villages in between, including Sandhurst, Owlsmoor, College Town and Finchampstead.

What if I live somewhere else?

Contact us and we’ll let you know if we can cover your location. If we can’t, we’ll do our best to point you to someone who can.

Safety and regulation

Are you regulated?

Our application to register home care with the Care Quality Commission is in progress, and we’ll update this page once it’s approved. Ann’s Angels is run from Valeries, our CQC-registered care home in Crowthorne, rated Good, and is led by Shelley Young, Registered Manager at Valeries.

Who manages the service?
